Who we are

Stand With Sailor is a family-run fundraising and update site for Sailor, a 14-year-old fighting leukemia. This policy explains what information we collect through the site and how we use it. If you have any questions, email us at will.farmerie@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Phone number — if you sign up for text updates, we store the phone number you provide so we can text you when the family posts news.
• Name and message — if you post on the prayer wall, the name and message you enter are stored and shown publicly on the site.
• Donation details — donations are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe shares limited information with us (such as the donation amount) and handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.
• Usage data — we use analytics tools (Vercel Analytics and PostHog) to understand how the site is used, such as pages visited and general location. This helps us keep the site working well.

Text message updates

When you enter your phone number and press “Sign up for texts,” you consent to receive recurring informational text messages from Stand With Sailor about updates the family posts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can get assistance by replying HELP or emailing us.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with service providers acting on our behalf (such as our text messaging provider) solely to deliver the messages you signed up for.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to run this site: sending the text updates you asked for, displaying prayers you chose to share, processing donations, and keeping the site secure and working. We do not sell or rent anyone's personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Deleting your information

Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages. If you'd like your phone number, a prayer you posted, or anything else removed entirely, email us at will.farmerie@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

Children

This site tells Sailor's story, but it is intended for adult visitors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update it here with a new effective date.
